What is a Nudgeathon?

"A nudge is any aspect of the choice architecture that alters people’s behavior in a predictable way without forbidding any options or significantly changing their economic incentives." - Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein

While a behavioral nudge is an intervention on a societal architecture that guides individuals to a desired outcome, a Nudgeathon is a crowdsourcing method in which small groups use nudge theory to devise implementable solutions to major behavioral policy problems.

The concept was developed in 2015 at Warwick Business School and has since gained international praise through its effective application. To date, Nudgeathon has carried out over three dozen events across four continents. While there have been successful Nudgeathon events run in several countries across the world, this event will be the first official Nudgeathon held in the United States that also focuses on partnering with local non-profit organizations.
